HELPs Corps Update  Ten members of Greater Providence Baptist Church (GPBC) have formed a HELPs Corps to understand the coronavirus driven needs of church members in order to assist where possible. This group will prioritize our elderly and sick/shut in members who have no other means of assistance with critical activities. Examples include assistance with arranging delivery services for grocery/pharmacy pick-up, assistance with connecting through technology (i.e., Zoom, conference call; assistance connecting to available services/resources). This volunteer effort is not funded by GPBC and will not be able to provide financial assistance. All assistance will be provided using the public health guidelines for safety. If you are in quarantine, sick and/or experiencing any symptoms of the virus, make us aware when you reach out. Masks and social distancing will be required. If you have a need within the parameters identified, please email Jacqueline Waites Moss who will try to partner you with someone from the team who can assist.

ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION: The State Board of Elections and N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles announced that they now offer online voter registration. If you are or ever have been a DMV customer with a N.C. driver’s license or DMV-issued ID, you may now check your registration status, register to vote, update your voter registration address, and change party affiliation online. If you do not have a valid NC Driver’s License or DMV-issued ID card, or you need to make a name change, you can download a voter registration application. Print, fill out, sign and mail the form to your County’s Board of Elections. This is a standalone FREE service that does not require you to complete a DMV transaction (such as license renewal) at the same time. If you do not receive your voter registration card within 2 weeks, go online to see if it was processed. If you have any questions contact your County’s Board of Elections.
